Rae Sremmurd certainly didn’t invent their brand of feel-good party rap, but it is the earnestness with which they perform it that makes it so enjoyable. Showing that brothers Khalif “Swae Lee” and Aaquil “Slim Jimmy” Brown were more than platinum singles “No Type” and “No Flex Zone,” the group took home best group and best new artist at the BET Awards after their album spawned hits “Throw Sum Mo”, “This Could Be Us” and “Up Like Trump.” ![]() Mississippi’s 2015 musical contributions got off to a blazing start with the release of Tupelo sibling duo Rae Sremmurd’s debut album “SremmLife” in January.
